Bluefin Sushi & Ramen Round Rock

I saw a video online claiming Bluefin had some of the best ramen in the Austin area, so I decided to try the Round Rock location. Having traveled to Japan, I know firsthand that great ramen isn’t easy to find in the U.S., so I was excited to give this place a shot. The first thing that caught me off guard was asking if they had a classic Tokyo-style shoyu ramen. The staff didn’t seem to know what I was referring to, which immediately made me question how authentic the ramen would be. I ended up ordering the beef ramen instead. The portion size was generous, but I was surprised it didn’t come with an ajitama (marinated ramen egg). Instead, I had to order a fried egg separately, which added even more to the bill. I also paid $4 for a small canned green tea, which felt excessive. Unfortunately, the ramen itself was mediocre at best. The broth lacked the depth and richness I was expecting, and the overall flavor just wasn’t memorable. It definitely didn’t live up to the hype. By the time everything was said and done, I had spent nearly $40 on a bowl of ramen, a fried egg, and a canned green tea. For that price, I expected a much better ramen experience. Food was extremely tasty - tried appetizers, ramen, and sushi. The bubble tea was good too - just a little too sweet. Wish there was a way to adjust the sweetness. The atmosphere is that of a typical eatery (izakaya) in Japan.

This place is the bomb diggity. Hidden gem! I tried it a couple of weeks ago and it’s a new favorite. The sushi is expertly served, fresh, and plentiful. The ramen is so good. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. And they always have specials going on. Can’t go wrong!

A great spot for ramen and innovative sushi! I really enjoyed my recent visit to Bluefin Ramen and Sushi. The broth in my black garlic ramen was incredibly flavorful and had a wonderful garlic kick. The chasu was tender and pretty good, although I would have preferred it to be a bit leaner and softer. The noodles were the perfect texture for my taste. We started with the muscle appetizer, which I highly recommend. It was cheesy and cooked very well. The sushi rolls were interesting and creative. If you're a fan of unique and innovative sushi, you'll be impressed with their wide selection, but it might not be the place for those seeking a more traditional sushi experience. They have some great lunch deals, so it's a good place to check out if you're in the area. It's also conveniently located near the Kalahari resort in Round Rock. While I wouldn't say it's the absolute best ramen in the area, it's definitely in the top tier. I'll be back for that black garlic ramen!

I’m new to the area and wanted to try this place. It’s nice and clean. I was craving Ramen and wanted to give them a try. Bonito Yuzu ramen, fried gyozas and Sakura Shumai. The ramen and the gyozas were just okay. I’ve definitely had better. The shumai was a total miss. They had a very weird texture. I love shrimp. I have had it many, many ways. What was in the shumai was mealy. The outside was wet and soft. It wasn’t good at all. That a waste of money. I will probably try some other stuff on the menu. It’s pretty big so maybe some of their food is good.
